VMCH St Bernadette's has a close-knit community of culturally diverse residents living within its walls. The staff are dedicated, professional and tailor their care provision to suit each individual’s physical, social, cultural and spiritual needs. As well as the constant assistance from staff, residents’ also have access to a range of local community groups.
A healthy lifestyle program and regular contributions from volunteer keep the facility abuzz with activity. For quieter times, there are well-maintained gardens with pleasant outlooks, rose bushes and a gazebo, as well as the comfort, security and peace of mind of the homely indoor environments. Accommodation rooms are single configuration with ensuite.
Residents have a steady stream of activity programs to engage in, including music and dance recitals, exercise programs, cultural events, regular excursions, crafts, games and special celebrations. The qualified staff coordinate the programs in consultation with residents. VMCH St Bernadette's also makes an extra effort to conduct cultural events and excursions on a regular basis.
The facility provides permanent residential care and specialised care for people living with dementia.
