With our population living longer, there are a growing number of voluntary Carers, often intimate partners, family and friends, who find themselves caring for elderly partners or relatives.
Patience and taking time are simple measures that people can take to support those living with dementia to continue to live full and active lives. During Dementia Action Week (21-27 September) Dementia Australia is sharing tips to help people understand how they can make a positive difference in the lives of people living with dementia.
Three out of four people who live with dementia say people don’t keep in touch like they used to, while 65 per cent say people they know have been avoiding or excluding them, results from a Dementia Australia survey have found.
