Southcare offers services for Home Care Packages, Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP), private home care services and short-term restorative care.
Our community programs include Aboriginal Community Support, Emergency Relief, Financial Counselling, Opportunity Shop and Leadership Training Programs.

Home Care Workers Roger (57 years, left) and Jordan (24 years, right) describe their work as providing “care, conversation and connection” and they say this with excellent authority because they are father and son! The dynamic duo are part of the Community Home Care team at Southcare and they use their caring hands to help our customers live independently at home.
A passion for people and enabling them to have a good quality of life is what motivated Southcare Community Support Worker Shona to become a carer and the COVID-19 pandemic was the catalyst for her to start a career in the aged care industry.
Retraining for a job in his 50s has given Southcare Community Support Worker Paul the best gain of his career in that he describes it as the “best job he’s ever had. Being a carer is the first job I can confidently say I truly love, and I have been working since I was 18!” Paul says.
What’s at the top of your bucket list? For Southcare Star Terry, it’s defying gravity! So, when he asked to be taken to an indoor skydiving centre during his service visit, his Southcare team said, “start the car!”
Friends for 20 years, Shirley (pictured, left) and Geraldine say they always support each other. “We live across the road from each other and met when our husbands Sam and Stan were putting up Christmas decorations outside one year,” Geraldine says.
Southcare Star Fausta (pictured left with her bingo buddies Margaret and Ron) sent this card thanking the Southcare team for her new community card which lets her travel to appointments using taxis, in line with her approved care needs.

Say hello to Southcare client Denis, who started his working life at 14 years of age with magazine distributor, Gordon & Gotch and retired when he was 59 – an incredible 45-year career in publishing!
