Jim Celebrates 100th Birthday in Style

on Thursday, October 27, 2016

Jim Agg, a resident of Freedom Aged Care in Dromana was born on October 3rd 1916 and recently spent his 100th birthday with family and friends.

Jim enjoyed two days of activities, beginning with a lunch with family and friends at the village - there were even two cakes impressively topped with 100 candles!

On Wednesday the 5th of October, Jim adventured out in a Rolls-Royce for the day to visit his old home town of Blairgowrie - specifically the Post Office which is the very store he ran for 27 years. He then headed to a delicious lunch at Hotel Sorrento.

Jim has always been and always will be a handy man, he was one of the pioneers in making the first successful heart bypass machine and continued to make medical equipment for the hospital for many years.

He has spent his 100 years enjoying sports and travelling, Jim mostly travelled with his sister and her husband, they even took a ship over to the UK in the 1950s and he never went back to the same place twice.

Freedom Aged Care offers residents a unique aged care experience in home care style communities. Residents can make use of the 24-hour care services available while still living independently in the privacy of their very own self-contained unit.
