Home care services in Western Australia provide a great alternative to residential aged care, allowing you to receive care and assistance in the comfort of your own home. There are a number of home care providers in WA that can tailor a home care program to suit your care needs.

There are two ways that you can access home care services.

You may be able to receive Government funding for a Home Care Package. To find out if you are eligible, you will need to be assessed by your local ACAT – Aged Care Assessment Team.

Once you have been assessed and received approval for a Home Care Package, you will be advised of your home care level. These levels are determined based on your individual care needs:

  • Level 1: Basic care
  • Level 2: Low-level care
  • Level 3: Intermediate care
  • Level 4: High-level care

Each Home Care Package level receives different amounts of funding from the Government. Once you have been approved and received your Home Care Package funds, you will be able to choose the home care provider that suits you. Home care providers in Western Australia include:

A new model of Consumer Directed Care (CDC) was recently introduced to home care. This means you now have even more flexibility and choice in selecting your home care provider. You can now also select the exact home care services you want and choose how your home care funds are spent.

If you are not eligible to receive Home Care Package funding from the Government, you can also self-fund your own home care program.
