Reflections: A Photo Series

Tom Hussey, an award-winning photographer based in the US, is the creator of a beautiful collection of images designed to give people an insight into the lives of people living in aged care homes.

The series is emotional, tying together the prime years of the elderly subjects’ past to their present day lives.

The photographer came up with the concept after having a poignant conversation with an 80-year-old WWII veteran, who couldn’t believe how quickly time had passed.

“He commented that he didn’t understand how he could be 80 years old as he felt he was still a young man,” Hussey said.
