on Friday, June 5, 2015
On June 19 2015, ACSA members and the wider aged care sector will join in with organisations in the United Kingdom, Malta and South Africa to promote and showcase the work of aged care providers.
This is the second year Australia has participated in the Open Day celebrations and family, friends and members of the local community are all invited to attend.
This National Open Day offers the opportunity for aged care service providers to open their doors to their local community. Residential aged care facilities, community care providers and retirement villages provide care and accommodation to over 1 million Australians every year but often, people in the wider community are not always aware of what services are available.
On Friday June 19, you are invited to walk through the doors of your local aged care facilities to discover what is on offer. These services are a vital part of local communities and help older people continue living rich and inspiring lives.
National Open Day will highlight and promote the positive experiences of older Australians and Professor John Kelly AM, ASCA CEO said, "often people who need care and support have no idea what aged care services are available in their local community. Please join our members and those they care for to see what is possible."
