Established in 1969 and founded by the Knights of the Southern Cross, Southern Cross Care is a reputable community-based organisation that provides excellence in quality care to more than 5,300 older people in metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria.

We place a great deal of importance on independent choice and involvement, and view ageing as a great opportunity for many to expand their social activities and skills.

The word 'choice' is one that we feel very strongly about - we offer a number of services to ensure that older people in our community have a broad range of living options, regardless of their financial situation, cultural and care needs.

What we offer:

Home and Community Care Services

For older people who choose to remain living in their own homes with the support of planned and managed services. Each package is tailored to meet your care needs and support you in staying in your own home for as long as possible.

There are four levels of HomeCare packages designed to give you the care you need:

  • Level 1: support people with basic care needs
  • Level 2: supports people with low-level care needs
  • Level 3: supports people with intermediate care needs
  • Level 4: supports people with high-level care needs

Retirement Living
For older people who want a greater level of security but who still lead very active and independent lifestyles:

  • Co-located Units (Independent Living Units co-located with a Residential Home)

Residential Aged Care Services

For older people who require more comprehensive ongoing care and the support of qualified personnel on duty 24-hours a day.

All of our residential homes are fully accredited by the Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency.
