Resthaven and Thailand aged care provider, Baan Sudthavas, have celebrated ten years of partnership with a letter and photo update from their community to Resthaven. Resthaven CEO, Darren Birbeck, says, "Having bonded over our shared vision of providing high quality aged care to those in need, Resthaven first hosted Baan Sudthavas founder, Arnop Chirakiti, in 2013."
Happy 100th birthday to Mrs Aileen Hart, who celebrated her milestone on 4 January 2024, in her home at Resthaven Malvern. Mrs Hart’s daughter, Julie, says, "Mum was an only child, born and raised in Woodville, and went to the local school there."
Volunteer pianist, Tony Kelly, enjoys spending his time hitting the keys at Resthaven Malvern, having discovered the joys of aged care approximately 25 years ago.

Happy birthday to Resthaven Malvern’s latest centenarian, Miss Edna Chatfield, who will celebrate 100 years on 18 February, with a lifetime of memories to look back on. Born and raised in the outskirts of the Adelaide CBD, Miss Chatfield reflects on her childhood in a family of four.
On 7 January 1923, Resthaven Malvern resident Mrs Angelina Manias (nee Makris) was born on the Greek island of Ikaria—one of five known blue zones in the world, and home to some of the longest-living people.
In July 2022, Resthaven Malvern Housekeeping Services Assistant, Lesley Wimbles, will celebrate 45 years of service with Resthaven, making her the longest serving staff member in Resthaven’s 86 year history and the first to reach a 45 year milestone.
On 9 May, Resthaven Malvern resident, Mrs Mary Philp, reaches her 100th milestone – owing it all to her family. "We have always been close. I grew up in Port Adelaide with my parents, and my maiden aunts lived right next door!"
Earlier this year, residents at Resthaven Malvern began their annual knitting project, with the goal to donate warm blankets to the homeless by Christmas.

Lifestyle Coordinator, Felicity Tucker, says, "Earlier this year, we set up shared knitting box in our café area, and encouraged residents, staff and visitors to knit a square to contribute."
Mrs Ruth Osborn came into this world in dramatic fashion 100 years ago, and she is still going strong. Sitting in her elegant room at Resthaven Malvern, Ruth says, "I was born in Riverton Nursing Home at 3am on 10 August, 1921, on the coldest night of the year."
Lifelong learning is vital according to Mrs Beth Robertson of Resthaven Malvern, who gained a Diploma of Arts – her third tertiary qualification – when she was 88 years old.
Many happy returns to Mrs Elizabeth Gould, who celebrated her 100th birthday at Resthaven Malvern on 28 April with a ‘window birthday party’ due to COVID-19 visitor restrictions.
