Magnolia Homestead

The facility is designed for the Queensland climate with many verandahs, court yards and plenty of natural light. The buildings are surrounded by magnificent gardens and the home itself offers numerous outdoor areas for family gatherings, picnics and barbeques. We have 6 houses of differing size, each with its own lounge and dining room. Every room has a view of the gardens.

Personnel
Our employees are carefully selected for their experience and commitment to providing high quality care. Many of our staff have been employed by us for in excess of five years. Our friendly, loving staff provide each resident with individual care. Family and friends are encouraged to actively participate in the planning of care and the life of their loved one. We encourage residents to maintain their community links and assist with this aspect of their life through many of our external activities. A very active Relatives and Friends Association meet monthly in the Clubhouse and all relatives and friends are encouraged to join.

Services Amenities & Therapies

Accommodation Low care
Residents have single suites with their own ensuite bathroom. All suites open to cool verandahs. The rooms are of generous size to allow residents personal furniture. All 15 low care suites have built in robes with mirrored doors, drapes, ceiling fans, individual air conditioners, nurse call system, TV, computer and telephone outlets. The lounge, dining, sun rooms and clubhouse are beautifully furnished and finished with quality artwork. All lounges are equipped with wide screen TV, DVD player and library.

Accommodation High care
Residents have large single suites with a shared ensuite bathroom. We have 12 double suites should couples wish to share. Rooms have built in robes, ceiling fans, drapes, nurse call system and views of the gardens. High care residents reside in 5 separate houses depending on care needs. We have a secure dementia house and a palliative care house. Lounge and dining rooms are air conditioned for the residents‘ comfort. These areas are beautifully decorated and open onto covered patios. All lounges have a wide screen TV, DVD player and library.

Both high and low care areas are security protected by CCTV back to a central monitoring area. Our Clubhouse and adjoining courtyard are used by residents for parties, concerts, indoor bowls, bingo, shuffle board, craft and lots more.

Hairdressing, Beauty& Other Services

• Hairdressing/beauty salon within the complex offers a full range of hair care to residents, families and staff.
• A beautician is available by appointment and massage and manicures arranged by appointment.
• A coffee shop selling drinks and snacks.
• Religious services and pastoral care.
• An 18 seater bus with wheel chair hoist has been purchased for residents outings.
• Aromatharapy is used by qualified therapists to enhance the lives of residents.
• A full time mobility therapist is employed to maintain & enhance residents independence.
• Physiotherapist visits weekly to assess the needs of residents.
• Podiatrist, Speech pathologist and Dietitian visits monthly by appointment.
