It is the only residential facility of its kind boasting an exclusive inner city location, which combines the charm of yesteryear with all the modern facilities you would expect from Helping Hand.
The North Adelaide site caters for 155 residents, providing for both high and low care needs as well as state of the art dementia specific units.
A short term stay visitor unit is available for family and friends.
The Café and Courtyard Garden provides residents with a place they can catch-up with family and friends. The café opens out onto the beautifully landscaped courtyard garden. The café area also has internet access, allowing residents to surf the net or keep in contact with family and friends. A gift shop is also located near the café and is stocked with many handmade items.
Helping Hand encourages independence in maintaining day to day skills, however as increased help is required, staff will tailor services specific to your needs. Services offered include:
Helping Hand currently has two Superior suites available in our secure memory support unity at our North Adelaide care home.
This fully accredited facility offers accommodation for 155 people and the majority of rooms overlook the gardens. All rooms are comfortably furnished with electric beds, built-in wardrobes, lockable storage, fabric curtains and carpet. In addition, each room is fitted out with wide doors, a nurse call point and an individually controlled air conditioning system. Everyone is encouraged to personalise their rooms with furniture or belongings that are special to them. If you choose, you can also have a telephone, personal computer or bar fridge installed in your room.
North Adelaide residents can access an extended range of services and goods including: daily newspapers, choice of meals, complimentary snacks and beverages, a choice of dining venues, weekly functions and events and private garden areas.
An Elevate Fee of $8 per day also applies for this vacancy.
As well as the need to have Aged Care Assessment approval, South Australian law also requires that anyone who moves in to a secure Memory Support Unit also needs to have Special Powers Orders in place, which can be applied for through the South Australian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (SACAT).
