Shirley Mutzelburg knows Carinity Karinya Place like the back of her hand. Not only does she live in the Laidley aged care community, she used to work there – and also got married on the site!
Caring for seniors is Jenny Boettcher’s passion. The experienced nurse recently celebrated 30 years supporting older Queenslanders, in her role working for Carinity Aged Care. Jenny commenced her career working in aged care in July 1993 at the Carinity Brookfield Green seniors community, then known as Resthaven.
For seniors and their families, making the decision to transition from living independently to a residential aged care community is a significant milestone. Applying to live in aged care can seem quite daunting, but the introduction of Carinity’s new streamlined online applications is making the process easier.
A new gardening project is sowing the seeds for growing friendships between some of Laidley oldest and youngest green thumbs. The inter-generational gardening initiative sees residents of the Carinity Karinya Place aged care community and Laidley State High School students work together to grow and harvest vegetables.
