Karingal Gardens is operated by Bushland Health Group Limited (community owned) and provides care and accommodation for 100 residents in a bright, airy and modern environment in Taree. All rooms have access to an ensuite bathroom and are individually air conditioned.
Only 8 years old, Karingal Gardens has a separate and secure memory care unit for those residents requiring dementia care.
The home utilises the services of a Nurse Practitioner employed by the organisation to give rapid access to primary health care which ultimately improves care outcomes for all residents.
A Music and Memory program, accredited by the Arts Health Institute, is available to improve the quality of life for those with Alzheimers, other forms of dementia, or those with other cognitive impairments. The program provides personalized playlists for music on iPods. This helps to soothe and awaken the mind, restore identity, and help residents reconnect with those close to them.
A sensory room is another feature at Karingal Gardens. Named the Dadirri Room, it provides a stimulating yet calming environment for those requiring such assistance.
Other services offered at Karingal Gardens include:
SINGLE ROOM with either shared or private ensuite. All rooms have an abundance of natural light and are both spacious and well equipped. Standard inclusions are individually controlled heating and cooling, a bedside table, drawer and chair, electric adjustable bed, built in wardrobes and shelving, and nurse call alarms for safety. Each room includes a connection for the telephone and internet, and has Foxtel capability. Room size is a generous 18.8sqm.
