Open day showcases positive ageing

Over 140 friends and clients of a unique integrated aged care site came together last Friday to celebrate the first National Open Day in South Australia.

The Resthaven Paradise campus, which integrates a residential facility, community services and the University of Adelaide Geriatrics and Research in Aged Care (G-TRAC) Centre, hosted an array of community-friendly events to showcase its positive and healthy approach to ageing.

Ten staff from Southern Cross Care in Victoria (SCCV) travelled to Changun in May for a 12-day study tour to exchange industry best practice with the Chinese.

Over 100 aged care providers across the country will open their doors to the public this Friday in celebration of Australia’s inaugural National Open Day.

Australia will join the UK, South Africa and Malta in this year’s tribute to older people and the services available to assist them.
