The winners of this year’s Australian Aged Care Quality Agency Better Practice Awards were celebrated at a dinner held in Sydney last week. The awards recognise innovation and excellence across Australia’s aged care sector.
Last week the Hon. Ken Wyatt AM, MP, Minister for Aged Care saw first-hand the World's First Microtown™ NewDirection Care in Bellmere, Queensland. Minister Ken Wyatt described NewDirection Care as “Aged Care that is totally person-centred, with seven people per house with a care companion who works with each home’s resident.”
Both staff and residents at HillView’s aged care communities come from a variety of different countries. This diversity was recently celebrated with a ‘Multicultural Week’ where residents explored different cultures and enjoyed cuisines from all over the world.
