MACS – AGED CARE SERVICES Home Care

Part of Multicultural Aged Care Services Geelong

100 Weddell Road
North Geelong Victoria, 3215

Our home services consumers are diverse individuals, but they share a common thread: the desire to stay in their own home. This is also our purpose and passion. In fact, our vision is “culturally diverse individuals living life to the full”. And this takes place right at home, where the heart is.

But, let’s start with you.

You have probably found this page because you are looking to stay in your home for as long as possible; flexibly and on your terms. Or maybe someone you love is looking for this outcome, and you want to help them.

You may even be sceptical, or reluctant to reach out to strangers for help. This isn’t an easy decision. No one wants to hand over part of their lives or daily routine to someone else. In fact, this decision can be hardest of all on the family members who are the current primary carers.

A positive step

Yet we see the step towards home care not so much about letting go, as it is about giving more control and independence back to you and your loved ones.

Ironically, the decision to access home services can end up being a very empowering and positive step for everyone involved.

Your pace, your way

At MACS we believe that less is more, especially at the start. To earn your trust, we start small. At your pace, and according to your preferences.  It may simply start with a lift you need to an appointment, or a load of washing that needs doing.

Call us to explain your situation and tell us what kind of in-home help you think you may need. Then we can visit you in your home for a chat before you make any decisions.

Get in touch

To organise a no-obligation home visit or to simply talk to us on the phone, you can reach us between Monday and Friday, 9am to 5pm, on the phone number above.

Flowing and Ageing with Grace Made Easy

on Wednesday, May 31, 2017

Are Yoga, Pilates and Tai Chi Moves for everybody? These activities might be new and unusual for people from different cultural backgrounds and older age. Can they embrace them?  Even if it’s yoga from a chair? In a word, definitely! Earlier this month, MACS’ Home Care consumers are jumping at the chance up to attend Mindful Moves in the MACS’ chapel.

Growing a Greater Sense of Life Through Music

on Tuesday, April 25, 2017

There are many robust conversations on the power of music for seniors. In recent years, this topic has escalated as we sharpen our focus on health, well-being and re-enablement for older persons. It has flowed past the idea that music is a heavenly pursuit, a stimulant or relaxant. Or a diversion. We now talk about the intentional use of music to heighten therapeutic, emotional and spiritual status in an older individual.
