Delivery Modes:

How long do the courses run for?

The standard Aged Care Daytime courses are flexible out to 16 weeks.  This consists of full time classroom teaching and 120 hours of full time unpaid work placement in an Aged Care facility.  The evening courses run for a total of 16 weeks, consisting of 12 weeks in the classroom (only 2 evenings a week) and 120 hours of full time work placement.

Classroom Teaching:

During the classroom period, students complete 3 days of manual handling training, First aid and CPR, and a total of 13 study units. Students will have the opportunity to handle and use real life items that are commonly used in Aged Care facilities.  This ensures that AustCare students get noticed by employers whilst on their job placements.

Work Placement:

During the placement period, students are facilitated part time by AustCare trainers who aim to ensure that students feel comfortable and confident with the tasks required of them.  Students are provided with AustCare polo shirt and lanyard to be worn on placement.

AustCare provides pre-arranged placements for all of their students!

AustCare Training does the hard work for you. We have built strong relationships with the aged care facilities in our locations and have secured placement positions for our students within 30 minutes of the classroom location.

Entry requirements:

Please Note: Aged Care facilities require each student to have a Police Clearance certificate.  The fact that you might have a criminal record may or may not impede on your ability to work in an Aged Care facility, this will be assessed on a case by case basis. AustCare Training will cover the cost of your Police Clearance certificate application.

Course Costs:

Full Fee paying students: $1750 (QLD Students only. $150 deposit – payment plans are available)

Government subsidised students: from $15 (QLD residents only)
