Shane Ogilvie Appointed Chief of Strategy & Innovation at Bethanie

Bethanie, Western Australia’s most recognised not-for-profit aged care and retirement living provider has appointed Shane Ogilvie as Chief of Strategy & Innovation. Shane is responsible for Bethanie’s strategic initiatives relating to growth, innovation and technology.

Shane is a highly motivated senior leader with extensive experience leading commercial development, strategy and innovation teams across the mining, manufacturing, defence and financial services industries.

His most recent positions include Executive Manager, Strategic Partnerships with the Commonwealth Bank Group – Bankwest and Business Manager, Australian Operations with Austal Limited.

With a keen interest in applying technology to solve business problems, Shane hopes his background will assist himto enhance the ageing experience of as many Australians as possible.

Shane comments, “I would like to remove the stigma of ageing as ‘getting old’. Bethanie is well positioned to work with start-ups, scale-ups and tech companies to develop solutions targeted at revolutionising care, creating connected communities, bridging the generation gap and improving the quality of life of everyday Australians to remove this stigma.

“My perception of the aged care industry is that it is very collegiate; people like to work together. I would like to see Bethanie get closer to its peers and work together to provide a better ageing experience for Australians.

 “I’ve worked with tech companies and start-ups in the finance, manufacturing and defence industries throughout my career. Bringing this experience to the aged care industry is very exciting and will assist me on the journey I am about to embark on with Bethanie.”

Shane holds a degree in Actuarial Science, holds post-graduate qualifications in accounting and was formerly the Chairperson of the Spirit of the Streets Charity.
