New Owners Turn the First Sod Marking Start of Construction for Bethanie Esprit Cottages

on Thursday, May 16, 2019

Bethanie, one of Western Australia’s most recognised not-for-profit aged care and retirement living providers officially marked the start of construction of their latest retirement living project, Bethanie Esprit Cottages, at an official event on Monday 13th May 2019.

Bethanie Chief Executive Officer Chris How and Beryl Cooper, one of 10 new buyers who have already purchased a cottage lot, were the ones to turn the first sod. This is the beginning of the first of three construction stages at the 34-cottage development. They were joined by the Bethanie Executive team, Bethanie Development and Sales team, residents and staff from Bethanie Esprit and Shire of Dardanup President, Councillor Michael Bennett.

A morning tea followed the turn of the first sod as the group, including all new owners, celebrated this special occasion. Bethanie Esprit Cottages are Bethanie’s latest retirement living project and Stage 2 has now been released, with Stage 1 already sold out within just weeks of its release.

Bethanie Chief Executive Officer Chris How comments, “We are so excited to begin construction on time with this brand-new development, which has only been possible due to the great response from the public that has exceeded all our expectations.

“At Esprit Cottages we are able to make living amongst this aspirational village a reality for people because of the affordable entry price.”

APH Contractors are the Civil Contractors and BGC Constructions South West are the builders who will officially begin construction on 19th May. It is expected that Stage 1 will be complete and ready for its new owners to move in by April 2020.

The village’s architecturally designed cottages are safe, secure and easy to maintain with two bedrooms, full sized kitchen, courtyard and alfresco areas and a rear entry double garage, starting from $299,000.

Bethanie Esprit is an established, pet-friendly village with facilities such as a dedicated village manager, a clubhouse and gym, heated swimming pool, bowling green, mini golf, craft room, hair salon, library, bar and dining room, caravan parking and an active Men’s Shed.

Bunbury City centre is only a short drive or bus away, and the modern Eaton Fair Shopping Centre and medical facilities are in close proximity as is Bethanie Fields Retirement Village and Aged Care Home.

The delivery of the entire 34 cottage development is estimated to be completed by August 2022.
