Braemar at Bicton Progresses Hand In Hand with Community

on Thursday, May 16, 2019

Community feedback has helped to shape the building designs for the development of Braemar Presbyterian Care’s planned new residential aged care facility and care suites, to be located at its Bicton location.

The proposed development, known as Braemar at Bicton, will see a new state-of-the-art residential care facility built, in addition to a number of new residential care suites, which will provide home-style living complete with residential aged care services.

The proposed development will allow ageing residents in the local area to access essential care services in a contemporary facility, whilst remaining in their familiar neighbourhood, close to their families and friends.

Wayne Belcher (OAM), Chief Executive of Braemar, said the proposed regeneration of Braemar’s Bicton site would ensure there were attractive, contemporary and sustainable amenities on offer within the local community, for people requiring high quality aged care services.

“The feedback received during our initial late-2017 community engagement has informed the proposed building designs we’re developed,” said Mr Belcher.

“We are now seeking further feedback from residents and stakeholders on our most recent designs so that we can ensure we bring the highest standards of aged care accommodation and service to the Bicton community.”

Local people who have an interest in learning more about the project are encouraged to drop in to the next open day to meet the project team, who will be on hand to explain the design plans and answer any questions.

The open day will take place on Thursday 16 May, 2019, from 3:00pm to 8:00pm at the Braemar Lodge premises - 51 Point Walter Rd, Bicton.

“The community open day will provide opportunities for local people to discuss the development application, and have any questions answered about the future proposed uses for the site,” adds Mr Belcher.
