Celebrity Visit on Pancake Day

on Tuesday, March 12, 2019

Residents at Resthaven Malvern were delighted to host UnitingCare Pancake Day mascot ‘Penny Pancake’, and Channel 10 newsreader Rebecca Morse, at their annual Pancake Day event on Shrove Tuesday.

Resthaven is a proud supporter of Pancake Day each year, being a community service organisation associated with the Uniting Church in Australia.

Manager Residential Services, Terry Kirkwood, says, ‘Rebecca did a great job serving pancakes to residents – we were excited to host a local celebrity!’

‘Penny Pancake always brings out plenty of smiles and laughter.’

‘Guests at our Pancake Day fundraiser enjoyed delicious pancakes with lemon and sugar, or strawberries, cream and maple syrup.’

‘Guests provided a gold coin donation, with all proceeds raised going towards UnitingCare.’

Pancake Day fundraisers were also held at Resthaven Port Elliot and Bellevue Heights.
