Hand-knitted Goodies Donated to Lyell McEwin

on Tuesday, February 19, 2019

A group of keen knitters from Resthaven Craigmore have donated an enormous goody basket of hand-knitted items to the Lyell McEwin hospital.

Lifestyle Coordinator, Katrina Bosworth, says, "The knitting group meet every Friday afternoon, where they create an array of beautiful hand-knitted items."

"Amongst the items the ladies create are adorable little treasures for babies, including fluffy booties, beanies and tiny blankets."

"We donate a lot of these items to family and friends, but the ladies really wanted to help the wider community too."

"I spoke with the group, and we came up with the idea of donating them to the Lyell Mac neonatal department, where they would help to keep premature babies warm and snug."

"We contacted the hospital and they said they would be most grateful for the donation. We organised a basket to be delivered to the hospital in mid-February."

"We are so glad that these hand-knitted items will go towards helping those in need."

"This is a wonderful contribution from the oldest members of our community to the youngest."
