Fronditha Care’s New Board of Directors

on Tuesday, January 8, 2019

Late last year, Fronditha Care held its 41st Annual General Meeting and elected two new members, Pam Kalodimos and Aspasia Georgiou, and re-elected Paul Mavroudis to its nine-member board of directors.

Following the board’s first meeting on 5 December 2018 the organisation’s new board and office bearers are as follows:

  • President: Faye Spiteri (Tsolakis)
  • Vice President: Soula Cargakis
  • Treasurer: Jacob Fronistas
  • Secretary:  Jill Taylor (Nikitakis)
  • Members: Tim Dionyssopoulos, Paul Mavroudis, Pam Kalodimos, Aspasia Georgiou, Professor Eugenia Pedagogos

Mrs Spiteri (Tsolakis) becomes the first female president of the organisation.

Mrs Spiteri (Tsolakis) first joined the board of Fronditha Care in 2009 and has since held the position of Vice President. She has simultaneously chaired the board Communications Committee and been a member of the Governance Committee. She is also Chair of inTouch, Multicultural Centre Against Family Violence, a role she has held for the last 10 years; she has led that organisation to become a recognised leading provider of services for women, children and families experiencing family violence.

An accomplished strategist with extensive experience in executive and non-executive leadership roles she has an excellent record of moving strategic ideas through to successful implementation, underpinned by practical, sound governance. She has led organisations -through clear vision and strong purpose - to meet rigorous governance standards in social and financial performance, accountability and transparency to create value and build social capital.

She has been an executive leader within the Clemenger Group for the past 17 years as Communications Director for Cultural Perspectives and more recently a Partner at Hall & Partners.

Passionate about achieving better social outcomes driven by genuine collaboration and engagement, she was recognised for her contribution to driving social and behavioural change and awarded the Premier’s Achievement Award.

“It is a pleasure to lead such a respected and loved organisation. Fronditha Care is an organisation that understands the importance of culturally based care and has a proven track record of delivering services to the Greek community which are underpinned by a respect and a bounty of care, all within the regulatory framework set by the aged care sector.

I am honoured to be leading Fronditha Care and excited to continue the journey, building on its forty year legacy of provision of culturally appropriate residential and home based care,” stated Mrs Spiteri (Tsolakis).

She added: “I am also delighted to lead a board with the highest female participation to date. The composition of the new board far exceeds the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) target regarding gender diversity on boards. Combined with female representation on the executive team Fronditha Care is a forerunner in diversity leadership”.

CEO George Lekakis has welcomed the new members of the board and Faye Spiteri as President and has wished them success for the upcoming year.

“I have a strong view that the vision shared by the founders of Fronditha Care will be perpetuated by Mrs Spiteri (Tsolakis) and the board of directors and that together we will continue to be leaders in the aged care and philanthropic sector.”

Fronditha Care is a not-for-profit organisation that provides residential and community aged care services to the Greek community in Victoria and the broader multicultural community in regional NSW.
