Big Bethanie Bake Off Is Looking For Perth’s Best Home Recipes!

Got a brilliant recipe that you know will knock people’s socks off? Have people been asking you to share one super special recipe your whole life? Step aside MasterChef and My Kitchen Rules…the Big Bethanie Bake-Off is about to kick off its fifth year, with entries now open.

Perth’s oldest and youngest chefs are invited to enter the Big Bethanie Bake-Off, showcasing their culinary skills whilst at the same time sharing magical memories of intergenerational recipe sharing.

Bethanie, Western Australia’s most recognized not-for-profit aged care and retirement living provider continues to work on closing the intergenerational gap with this popular annual event.

Western Australian seniors and school age children have the opportunity to come together and compete in a live bake-off with some fantastic prizes to be won, taking place at Have-a-Go Day, a LiveLighter event.

To take part, entrants must submit their family recipes online in the hope of being selected as a finalist to compete in the live bake-off!

Seniors are asked to share their favourite recipe, or their parent or grandparent’s favourite recipe, along with the story behind the recipe. School-aged children are asked to research their grandparents’ background and discover their family favourite recipe.

All entrants then need to recreate the dish and submit their application for a chance to be part of the live cook-off event, and in the running for some fantastic prizes.

Each submission is judged on creativity, nutritional value, and complexity of the recipe, along with the story behind their secret family recipe. A carefully selected panel of expert judges will decide the overall winner at the live bake-off.

Four Western Australian seniors will be chosen as finalists to compete against four chosen school students at the Grand Finale for a live bake-off at Have-a-Go Day, a LiveLighter event, on Wednesday 14^th November.
