Fun for All at ‘TLC Aged Care The Heights’ 5th Anniversary

on Thursday, July 19, 2018

TLC Aged Care The Heights, located in Donvale, recently celebrated the 5th anniversary of its opening with a family fun day. The residents, their family and friends, staff, and supporters came together to celebrate this milestone in the history of the home. Since opening in June 2013, The Heights has been providing aged care to the elderly of Melbourne’s eastern suburbs, and the local community turned out to help them celebrate.

TLC Aged Care has a reputation for throwing some fantastic parties, and this family fun day was no exception. On entering The Heights through an amazing balloon arch, guests were greeted by Ollie, a miniature pony, a face painter, balloon twister and photo booth. Nobody at the party was a risk of going hungry with a sausage sizzle, churros van, smoothie bar, coffee cart and finger food on offer throughout the party. Some guests also braved the inclement weather for a bit of fun on the jumping castle.

The courtyard of The Heights was transformed into a petting zoo for the day. The zoo was filled with ducks, chickens, goats, lambs and a very cheeky piglet, which delighted the visiting children and adults alike.

In the main lounge residents and guests grooved to the sounds of Pete Chapman and his band while sampling some of the delicious food served at The Heights. Ollie the miniature pony also made an appearance on the dancefloor.

General Manager of The Heights, Sue Jones commented, “Everyone who attended the party had a wonderful day, it was delightful to see some of the residents enjoying some very special moments with their children and great-grandchildren”.
