VC Living's Unique Furniture Ideal for Aged Care

VC Living have been supplying outdoor teak benches to the aged care industry for over 10 years. Debbie Stevenson, Managing Director of VC Living sat down with Aged Care Online to explain. 

“Teak is the best option for outdoor furniture; it has the highest moisture content of all natural timbers and therefore is best suited to withstand even the most extreme temperatures in Australia. Our benches are made from plantation sourced teak, cut to size, kiln dried to specific temperatures to eliminate any movement in the timber once constructed, and then manufactured to our high specification.

"Being solid teak they are heavy and do not move or get blown over unlike plastic or aluminium alternatives. They are also ergonomically suited to aged care with firm supports and suitable seat depth and height," Debbie says. 

VC Living offer two designs, the Classic Bench and the Marlboro; both are delivered flat packed but with only four or five pieces to each bench depending on design, they are super easy to assemble and use teak dowels for joins rather than screws which can deteriorate over time in outside situations.

Both designs come in three sizes each so VC Living can accommodate almost much any situation. The benches need no maintenance and will age gracefully to blend into the environment.
