Arcare Portarlington Enjoys a Community Market Day

Over 500 guests joined Arcare to celebrate the official opening of Arcare Portarlington’s extension, including 40 new suites, on Saturday 19 May.  

Rugged up attendees made a beeline for the new café to warm up with a tea or coffee before perusing the market stalls hosted by local makers and growers. There was something for everyone to enjoy including tea, wine, candles, lollies, cheese, prints, juice, baked goods, honey and preserves.

Guests also learnt the art of flower arranging with florist Little Twig and produced handmade cards with the guidance of Arcare Portarlington clients and the lifestyle team.

Listening to a jazz duo in the rotunda or a Spanish guitarist in the courtyard, guests spent the afternoon relaxing with a glass of wine and a sausage in bread from the sausage sizzle hosted by the Portarlington Drysdale Lions.

For the dog lovers in the community, Cherished Pets gave out free health checks to guests’ pooches and Melbourne Pet Photography took free happy snaps of pets and their owners.

Clients and team members brought their families and friends to tour the newly refurbished residence. There were many positive comments on the welcoming atmosphere and impressive amenities, including the café, hair salon, private dining room and lounge.

Staff at Arcare Portarlington are looking forward to meeting and getting to know their growing community.
