on Wednesday, April 18, 2018

TriCare Sunnybank Hills Aged Care Residence hosted an international delegation of aged care managers on Thursday April 12, from UK, China and India showcasing best practice in aged care.

The delegation is part of the Department of Trade & Investment’s Trade 2018 Trade and Investment Games Time Program run in conjunction with the Commonwealth Games.

With a key focus on health and knowledge, the program provides delegates exclusive access to Queensland leaders in the fields of health, biomedical and life sciences, including aged care.

TriCare Aged Care Manager, Daniel Aitchison said that purpose built TriCare aged care facilities, such a Sunnybank Hills, provided the delegation with a clear example of where the aged care sector is heading, both here and internationally.

“TriCare Sunnybank Hills displays leading aged care practices with a focus on high quality care and the latest in clinical technology.

Coupled with premium aged care accommodation and five star hospitality Sunnybank Hills provides a very modern take on the future of aged care living,” said Mr Aitchison.

The group received a tour of the Residence complete with a cafe, hair salon, luxurious lounge areas and a stunning greenhouse garden with open walkways.

Facility Manager, Paulo Caferra said the delegation was particularly interested in the layout of the facility, lounge areas and size of rooms.

“They were impressed with the luxury fittings in the bathrooms, and the overall comfort and feel of the rooms being more like a hotel than a typical aged care setting,” said Mr Caferra.

According to the Department of Trade and Investment, Queensland is internationally renowned for its health and knowledge expertise, with world-leading innovations in R&D, clinical trials, e-health, tropical health, vaccines, and senior living.

Highlights of the Health and Knowledge Program include briefings from expert speakers, tailored business-matching sessions, and site visits to high-profile research, health and aged care institutions.
