A special way to spend Valentine’s Day

On 14 February, Resthaven Marion Community Services clients celebrated Valentine’s Day with a ‘pamper day’ at 43 Finniss Street, Marion.

Coordinator, Bronwyn Shepherdson, says, "Everyone deserves a little TLC sometimes, so we held a pamper day for some of our clients at our Wellness Centre. There were lots of 'ooh’s' and 'ah’s' as they entered the room, which we had decorated with paper flowers, all in shades of pink."

"The room was transformed into a “salon” of different pampering options for clients, including therapeutic warm hand wax, facials, hair styling, manicures, massages, foot spas, and foot massage."

"Our centrepiece was a display of paper flowers hanging from the ceiling!"

"For the gents, we offered the additional options of a shave and a shoe shine."

"The room was filled with an excited buzz of chatter and laughter as guests enjoyed their pampering."

"It was lovely to see everyone enjoying themselves and chatting."

"Many guests commented on the new friendships they had made, and hoped to continue in the future."

"Lunch was served in the garden room, with platters of gourmet sandwiches, fruit, cheese, and nuts, followed by scones with jam and cream, and bubbles and orange juice."

"In keeping with the theme, the table was decorated with a centrepiece of beautiful pink flowers."

"After lunch, it was back inside for tea, coffee, and chocolates, and the draw of lucky door prizes."

"First prize was a white bathrobe and basket of pampering products, second prize a smaller pamper pack, and a box of lovely chocolates was given for third."

"As the afternoon came to an end, we farewelled our 'valentines', who were delighted with the wonderful day."

"We were pleased to hold this special occasion, and staff and clients alike are looking forward to the next one."
