Bupa Woodville is Officially Open

on Tuesday, September 26, 2017

Federal Member for Port Adelaide Mark Butler, Woodville Councillor Oanh Nguyen and former Port Adelaide footy legend Kane Cornes recently joined residents, relatives and team members to officially open the new Bupa Woodville home.

Bupa Woodville's first resident, Helen Reese, cut the ribbon to officially declare Woodville open to the community, alongside Bupa Aged Care Interim Chief Operating Officer Maureen Berry and Woodville's General Manager Febin John.

Before she cut the ribbon, Helen Reese  said a few words about her new home.

"The home is already filled with lots of love, laughter and fun. I am enjoying each and every moment here," Helen said.

"Our new home is a beautiful nest with a lot of love and care given to the residents by a group of passionate staff. We enjoy the life here and we've settled in well."

The new Bupa Woodville is home to the residents from Bupa's old Rosemary Street home, which closed its doors in July and there is enough room in the new home to accommodate new members of the Bupa Woodville family.

Bupa Woodville General Manager Febin John said the team were excited to officially open the home in front of members of the community, including Mark Butler.

"We're looking forward to continuing to support the care needs of the community through our new care home," Febin said.

"We're passionate about getting to know each and every one of our residents to meet their individual care needs and preferences. We do this by creating maps of life which detail the residents' history, likes, dislikes and other things that make them who they are."
