New Chief Executive Officer for Southern Cross Care SA&NT

on Tuesday, May 23, 2017

Leading aged care provider Southern Cross Care SA&NT has appointed Mr David Moran as Chief Executive Officer.

Mr Moran has been interim CEO since late 2016 when previous CEO, Mr Andrew Larpent, returned to the United Kingdom after five years in the role.

Mr Moran has more than 20 years of experience in retirement village living and aged care, including six years with SCC.

This includes roles in development, acquisition, management and consulting with Adelaide Bank and Primelife as well as a senior executive role with another South Australian not-for-profit aged care provider.

Mr Moran joined SCC in 2011 and was Deputy CEO prior to his new appointment.

“I am proud to lead the team at SCC as we continue to innovate and win awards for our services and developments. These innovations aim to embed health promotion across all of our services, strengthen our workforce and take a truly person-centred approach to aged care,” he said.

“SCC is currently building a $50 million retirement living development, Carmelite at Myrtle Bank, and will soon commence construction of a staged $56 million development at Mount Barker.

“Our Health and Wellness Centres, which we have launched across all of our residential care sites, are creating significant quality of life improvements aligned with our healthy and active ageing model of care.

“SCC exists to make our ‘better for life’ philosophy a reality for our residents. I will continue the organisation’s commitment to improve the health, wellbeing and lifestyle outcomes for the people we serve.”

Southern Cross Care SA&NT Chair, Mr Brendan Bowler AM, said: “David brings to SCC strength and continuity in leadership as well as proven expertise in strategic planning, operational management and stakeholder engagement. We welcome him to the role.”
