Refurbishments Transform MercyCare’s Wembley Residential Aged Care Home

on Thursday, March 23, 2017

After a year of careful planning, refurbishments are well underway at MercyCare’s Residential Aged Care home in Wembley, WA with the positive effects already being felt by residents, their families, staff and volunteers.

Reception and the main dining and activity room, the Atrium, were the first spaces to be upgraded and offer a welcoming and modern area for visitors and residents to come together. Since its completion, numerous celebrations have been enjoyed in the Atrium including Christmas, birthdays and Australia Day.

Director of Residential Aged Care Margaret Ingleton said feedback from residents and family members had been extremely positive.

“Everyone is commenting on how light and bright the facility is now, and how uplifting it is for their spirits,” Ms Ingleton said.

“With this project, our focus has always been on creating a warm, inviting space for residents and their families to enjoy and I’m so pleased to see that come to fruition.”

Over the next 6 months, residents will continue to transition into their newly refurbished rooms and new lounge, dining and garden areas will be unveiled.
