Bethanie to Launch New Aged Care & Lifestyle Village Project in Gwelup

on Wednesday, March 15, 2017

The Bethanie Group, one of Western Australia’s largest and most respected retirement living providers, is set to launch a state-of-the-art Lifestyle Apartment project and residential care complex in the northern coast suburb of Gwelup.

In close proximity to the picturesque Lake Gwelup, minutes from the shores of Trigg Beach, Karrinyup shopping centre and only 11km from the CBD, the state of the art project is the latest in the Bethanie portfolio of retirement living and aged care complexes.

The project features 62 stylish 1 and 2 bedroom apartments with the latest in modern facilities, designed to suit over 55 buyers. In the first of its kind in WA Bethanie have adopted a campus style model where their 112-bed aged care complex adjoins the apartment building. The concept behind this model is to allow for a ‘Continuum of Care,’ something that Bethanie are committed to delivering to their customers.

Bethanie CEO, Chris How said that the opening of this development marks an important milestone in Bethanie’s 63-year history, “We’ve been working on the design of Bethanie Gwelup for many years.

“After an extensive review of the best facilities and buildings around the world we have developed what we consider to be the latest and most modern aged care and retirement living design in WA.”

112 BED AGED CARE FACILITY

Each room within the two-storey aged care facility is fitted out with all the latest modern conveniences and has been specially designed to reflect a bedroom with less of a clinical feel. An inviting café area allows family to visit for coffee and various styles of dining such as a la carte or buffet are set in both large areas and intimate arrangements, giving residents and guests more choice.

The ground floor houses a secure Dementia specific facility with well thought out points of difference – such as each bedroom housing a ‘Memory Box’ on the wall outside. Within the memory box are personal items that belong to the resident – helping them to remember which  room is theirs.

62 APARTMENTS – STARTING FROM $350,000

The apartments are modern in design and features, with sizes well above the average residential apartment. Each architecturally designed residence features a gourmet kitchen, large master bedroom, resort-style ensuite, premium finishes, air-conditioning and an airy open-plan living area that flows onto an expansive balcony or courtyard.

In addition, residents can take advantage of modern shared amenities including a fully equipped gym, wellness centre, hair salon, library, and bar and dining room areas each with BBQs and balconies overlooking Lake Gwelup. For piece of mind there is also a 24-hour monitored duress alarm system, secure undercroft parking and storeroom plus a dedicated reception area.

Chris adds, “A core focus of the design team was to maximize the natural light and capitalize on the lake and park vistas. As a result, most of the apartments have views of the Lake Gwelup and adjoining parklands.”

Bethanie intend on introducing a number of innovative services to residents – capitalizing on the close proximity of the aged care facility. For example, giving residents the opportunity to have fully cooked meals delivered to their door, laundry and cleaning services and access to state of the art infotainment bundles to include TV/WIFI/Foxtel/Phone etc.

An Open Day will be held on March 25th, for more information call 131 151.
