Residents at RSL Care Galleon Gardens in Currumbin Waters, dressed up in their spookiest costumes for a Halloween Party on Monday 31 October.
The party was organised by Californian born Diversional Therapist Gwen Bonney, who was determined to spread some pumpkin-spiced American joy to the residents.
“We had great fun, all the staff dressed up in costumes and we had bobbing for apples, trick-or-treating, pumpkin carving and amazing food,” she said.
“We had an anatomy box where people put their hands in to feel brains, eyeballs and intestines – all jelly, grapes and spaghetti.”
The residential aged care sites auditorium was beautifully decorated with cobwebs, skeletons and ghosts, while food included eyeball jellies, Frankenstein rice crispy treats and chocolate-coated witch’s hats.
