Bethanie Kingsley Celebrate Ada's 104th Birthday

on Friday, October 14, 2016

Bethanie, one of Western Australia’s most well known not-for-profit aged care providers, has celebrated the 104th birthday of Bethanie Kingsley resident Ada Spocter.

Ada was born in Cape Town South Africa on the 10th of October 1912. She grew up alongside her brother and sister and later went on to be a wife, machinist and dress maker, where she worked in a large factory making shirt collars.

She has three children that live all over the world. Sherley (78) lives in South Africa, Neville (77) lives here in Perth and Patricia (73) lives in England. She has seven grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.

Ada believes she is doing very well for her age and only rarely does she see the doctor for check ups. She says she has many good and bad memories of her life, the same as any other person would have.

Ada is one of two residents over 100 who have recently celebrated birthdays at the Bethanie Kingsley site, aptly naming themselves the ‘over 100s club’. This exclusive club includes Ada Spocter (104) and Dorothy (Maude) Radford (100).
