As Kim Hunt, McKenzie’s Relationship Manager, explained, “It may be having the newspaper delivered each day. Fresh flowers every fortnight to brighten your room. Perhaps an afternoon drive, with a stop along the way for your favourite ice cream. Some may enjoy a spot of Tai Chi, a regular booking with the hairdresser or even a massage”.

McKenzie has 15 aged care residences and each one boasts its own unique features. So it stands to reason that the packages would vary from one location to another.

“At McKenzie, we are very much part of the community so we like to employ the skills and services of other locals. For instance, if we know of a fantastic artist nearby, we will enlist them for some drawing classes,” Kim elaborated. “We also like to make full use of BBQ areas and other facilities on each premises and, of course, the special extras we have for respite are different to the ones for our permanent residents.”
