Arcare Aged Care Olympics

on Friday, September 2, 2016

It was game, set and match at the annual Arcare Olympics on Thursday 25th August held at the Salvation Army in Craigieburn. Residents from Arcare Craigieburn, Maidstone, Epping, Sydenham and Hillside got together for the day, a fantastic opportunity to meet with other aged care residents in the area.

Audrey Godwin, who was acting Queen for the opening ceremony, said "we’ve just finished the real olympics but they can’t compare to our Arcare Olympics."

"We all come to compete and enjoy each other’s company. I’m honoured to be part of it," she said.

It was a close call in the competitive games of bowls and quoits but it was the residents from Epping who took out the gold medal.

Residents look forward to meeting up with their friends who they have made close friendships with through the various joint events occurring throughout the year.
