Record Number of Carers Register with Careseekers in a Home Care Industry First

on Wednesday, April 6, 2016

To date, over 1,000 carers across Australia, from Perth to Sydney have registered with online care matching service provider Careseekers - a that number continues to grow daily.

“This is an important milestone not only for the industry, which is undergoing significant change in the way in-home care is delivered, but also for our company. This achievement demonstrates our approach of providing the greatest possible choice to the families we work with, resonates with both carers as well as people looking for care,” says Ms Marissa Sandler, Co-Founder and CEO of Careseekers.

“The carers who have registered with Careseekers possess a diversity of skills, educational backgrounds, cultural persuasions as well as experience, which ensures we offer to our families the widest possible options for their consideration.

This recognises ultimately, the choice of which carer is right for one family, may not necessarily be right for another - it is a very personal decision,” said Ms Sandler.

Ms Sandler emphasised, “our approach to care focuses on preserving the dignity and autonomy of the individual through building caregiving relationships that respect the language and culture of each person. We are putting the consumer at the centre of the service we are offering.”

Careseekers also delivers the greatest possible flexibility in the delivery of home care services. Careseekers allows care seekers and carers alike to connect and create a working arrangements that suit them, whether full-time, or simply for a few hours a week.

Tasks can range from domestic duties to assistance in the bathroom or companionship. There are no wait lists or rosters of different carers each week. Care is affordable and tailored.

“Underpinning our approach is the desire to greatly improve the equity, quality and availability of care for all Australians, regardless circumstance,” Ms Sandler said.

Ms Sandler concluded, “As the government moves towards a more consumer driven market based home care system and the preference for maintaining independent living grows in tandem, increasing choice in determining the nature and type of home care being received becomes paramount. Coupled with this is the need for skilled care support which is delivered in a more flexible and cost effective manner.”

Careseekers was a participant in the National Roads and Motorists Association (NRMA) inaugural Jumpstart program.
