on Wednesday, April 27, 2016

Leading not-for-profit aged care provider Benetas is this month proud to be celebrating the 50th anniversary of one of its 13 residential aged care homes, Benetas Corowa Court, in Mornington.

This year not only marks 50 years since the opening of Corowa Court, but will also see the official opening of its renovation and expansion from 60 to 120 beds.

Benetas CEO, Sandra Hills, said the organisation has a long and proud history on the Mornington Peninsula with Benetas Corowa Court in Mornington, a new development in Frankston and a range of in home services available in the region.

“With over 21 per cent of people living on the Mornington Peninsula aged 65 or older, we are committed to providing support to the local community now and into the future,” said Ms Hills.

“The $14 million project, which will see the opening of Benetas Corowa Court Aged Care Apartments in July, is part of Benetas’ commitment to providing modern and contemporary housing models that meet the changing needs of older people.”

“We’re proud to be investing in the local Mornington community in this way and look forward to continuing to play a part in it for many years to come."

Ms Hills said Benetas is also proud to have developed various relationships with the local community during the last 50 years including Mornington Park Primary School, Padua College and the Corowa Court Op Shop.

“It’s important that we continue to celebrate and provide opportunities for our residents to continue their relationships with the local community and vice versa.”

The state of the art redevelopment will see a range of innovations introduced, including ‘cluster style living’.

The development is based around a carefully mapped out floor plan aimed at increasing the social connectedness of residents and ensuring they can easily access the in?house amenities they need.

Residents and family members will also have access to multipurpose rooms that they can use for private functions, a community park and a café as part of the redevelopment.
