Anglican Care a ‘Walk to Remember’

on Thursday, March 31, 2016

Anglican Care staff will be participating in the upcoming ‘Memory Walk & Jog’ for Alzheimer’s Australia NSW, on Sunday 3rd April, at Westport Park, Port Macquarie.

Dementia touches large numbers in our community, with more than 332,000 Australians living with the condition.

As an organisation at the frontline of this illness and its effects on families, Anglican Care’s staff are intimately aware of the need for support for those living with Alzheimer’s.

“This is a cause that is close to the hearts of our staff.  We see the effects of Alzheimer’s on a daily basis and the Memory Walk is a great way to raise awareness and much needed funds for research and development in this area”, said Anglican Care’s Marketing Manager, Kylie Jacques.

More than 30 staff and volunteers, from Anglican Care’s Taree facilities of Storm Village and Bishop Tyrrell Place, will take part in the walk.

All funds raised will assist Alzheimer’s Australia NSW’s ability to provide vital support services and professional training through the local dementia centre in Port Macquarie.

Anglican Care is one of the largest and most innovative providers of community and aged care, services providing excellent care and enhanced lifestyles to seniors throughout the Hunter, Central Coast and Manning Regions of New South Wales.
