Aged Care Organisations Chosen for Consumer-focused National Pilot Project

on Friday, June 19, 2015

CommunityWest, in conjunction with COTA Australia, has successfully recruited 10 organisations from around Australia to join the Step Forward: Create Better Together™ project.

These organisations will be trialling ‘co-production’ as a new way of working with consumers of aged care services to design service delivery using co-production tools and principles to enhance the Wellness and enablement focus of their work.

CommunityWest is delighted to announce the 10 successful organisations:

  • Uniting Communities (SA)
  • Centacare Community Services (QLD)
  • St Bartholomew's House (WA)
  • West Coast Community Services (SA)
  • The Society of Saint Hilarion Aged Care (SA)
  • Glenview Community Services (TAS)
  • MercyCare (WA)
  • Uniting AgeWell (VIC)
  • Calcary Home Services (NSW)
  • Jubilee Community Care (QLD)

The Step Forward: Create Better Together™ project has already attracted significant interest with a large number of high quality applications received from across Australia.

Jane Sterck, Project Director commented, “Such a large number of high quality applications indicates the growing appetite in the sector to explore new ways of working with consumers. Narrowing it down to the final 10 was really difficult for the panel.”

The project team look forward to working alongside the 10 pilot sites over the coming months. Each of them will get their projects underway this October with a finish date set for May 2016.

The wider community services sector can look forward to benefiting from the Step Forward: Create Better Together™ project with tools and learning from the pilot phase due for release in 2016-2017.
