Benetas Welcomes Animals on the Move to Benetas Dalkeith Hostel

on Wednesday, March 4, 2015

It was fun for all ages when the much anticipated Animals on the Move visited Benetas Dalkeith Hostel in Traralgon on Monday 2 March. Animals on the Move is a touring barnyard experience that involves meeting animals up close, animal-feedings and learning about the different creatures, great and small.

The Animals on the Move program, which is part of Benetas’ commitment to social inclusion and provided via the Benetas fundraising program, provides an extremely positive experience for residents and a great opportunity for them to invite their friends and families along to enjoy the day’s events.

Benetas Dalkeith Hostel Lifestyle Coordinator Karen Siddle said the residents relished the experience, which she admitted was a nice departure from their daily routines.

“It’s a really positive experience for residents and a great opportunity for them to have their friends and families along,” Karen said.

The opportunity to spend time with these animals is very special as we have many residents who grew up, or lived and worked on farms in the Latrobe Valley.”

Calves, pigs, chicken, rabbits and guinea pigs from Animals on the Move were star attractions as they played and mingled with the residents.

Animals on the Move visits several times throughout the year and has become a popular addition the Benetas Dalkeith Hostel lifestyle program.

Benetas Dalkeith Hostel is home to 54 residents and is located in beautiful Traralgon.

The event was fully funded through Benetas’ fundraising program and continues with the generous support of many members of the community.
