Twins Ageing Differently

This photo series by Chinese photographer Gao Rongguo, was put together to highlight the physical differences in ageing between sets of identical twins.

Each set of twins is over the age of 50 and grew up with exactly the same upbringing and family life, but as they have aged, their physical features have changed dramatically.  

“They used to have the same face, live with the same family, but their lives changed due to various reasons after growing up. I’ve taken these pictures face-to-face to mimic the way we look in a mirror,” says Rongguo.

Their distinct dress and unique styles are apparent as the portraits create contrasting mirror images.

Born in 1984 in Binzhou, in China’s Shandong province, Gao Rongguo graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing in 2012.
