Aged care funds raised on the golf course

on Friday, December 19, 2014

Aged care representatives from around Victoria gathered at Greenacres Golf Club on a sunny November afternoon to raise funds for their host, a not-for-profit aged care organisation with over 650 residents across seven facilities.

The provider, Catholic Homes, hosted its fourth Charity Golf Day on November 21 in the presence of golf industry professionals from the House of Golf Malvern, Carl and Justin, who were more than happy to share their tips and tricks with the competitors.

Architect firm V-Arc took out the main trophy, the Catholic Homes Challenge Cup, while aged care and retirement living provider Villa Maria took home the prestigious Catholic Grail prize.

After a long day on the course, golfers and guests were treated to a delicious meal, livened with entertainment from Singers for Hire Australia. A live auction and trophy presentation added further excitement to the proceedings.

All up the event raised more than $39 thousand to be distributed across Catholic Homes’ seven residential facilities and respite centres. The funds will be used to purchase equipment that will improve the service delivered to Catholic Homes’ 650 odd residents.

Catholic Homes thanked its numerous corporate partners including 3AW, the Catholic Education Office and One Fell Swoop.

Aged Care Online were specially acknowledged for their participation in the day’s event, represented by directors Ben Hannemann and Michael Lenkic, as well as for their donation to the auction.
