Aged Care Rating System goes to Sydney

on Tuesday, May 27, 2014

Following the success of its launch in Melbourne, the Aged Care Rating System will be presented to New South Wales on June 11 in Sydney.

About

The Aged Care Rating System (ACRS) is the first quantifier of residential aged care in Australia.

The joint enterprise of Ansell Strategic, Millenium Aged Care Placement Consultants and Aged Care Online, ACRS assesses aged care residences in terms of physical form, resident services, resident input and staff culture.

Piloted in Victoria with BlueCross Community and Residential Services earlier in the year, the ACRS has partnered with the SummitCare group for the Sydney launch.

The star ratings will be displayed on Aged Care Online and the providers websites to give greater transparency to the consumer when they are weighing up their aged care alternatives.

The SummitCare group is the first aged care provider in NSW to trial the system and is in the process of rating all their residential aged care facilities through the ACRS accreditation service.

Proceedings

Aged Care Online director and ACRS co-founder Ben Hannemann will introduce the new system to industry delegates from across Sydney, Newcastle and other areas of NSW.

Ansell Strategic director Cam Ansell will explain how the rating system will complement the current climate of the industry, with Commonwealth aged care reforms so close to effect.

Millennium Aged Care Placement Consultants CEO Dana Sawyer will present the rating system from the point-of-view of the consumer.

SummitCare CEO Cynthia Payne will conclude with her experiences using the ACRS on behalf of one of the largest aged care groups in NSW.

Macquarie Bank are proud supporters of the Aged Care Rating System and will host the event at their offices in Shelley St.
