Rudd Announces New Minister for Mental Health and Ageing

Kevin Rudd has announced his new ministry and replaced Mark Butler with Jacinta Collins as Minister for Mental Health and Ageing.

The announcement comes with a new ministry line up which includes Tanya Plibersek for Health and Medical Research and Jenny Macklin for Families, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs and Disability Reform.

Mark Butler is now Minister for Climate Change and Environment, Water and Heritage.

Jacinta Collins is one of three women to be promoted to the cabinet, taking the total number of women in the cabinet to six.

Mr Rudd told Channel Seven on Monday morning that it will be the largest number of women in the Australian cabinet history.
