on Thursday, November 28, 2013

Resthaven Mount Gambier has reached 100 employees and 20 volunteers after only two years in operation at the residential aged care facility in Mount Gambier.

The $24 million aged care facility opened in July, 2011 and is now close to capacity with 88 residents. ‘There was a real need for aged care and accommodation in the area,’ said Resthaven Mount Gambier Manager, Pam Alde.

‘Our wonderful staff provide high quality care and services to residents,’ she continues. ‘I’m very proud of their hard work and dedication.’‘In addition to the growing number of employees, our volunteer network continues to expand” said Ms Alde.

Resthaven now has 20 volunteers which Ms Alde described as providing a valued extra level of support.

‘They all make a wonderful difference, but our most unusual is “Wally the wonder dog” from the Salvation Army, who visits with his owner, Ross Patterson. Wally always brings a smile to residents’ faces’ she said.
