Graduate Nursing Program Applications Open at The Whiddon Group

The Whiddon Group have opened applications for their Graduate Registered Nurse Program, ‘Transcend’.

The aged and community care provider’s program offers graduate nurses the opportunity to take place in a 13 week placement program in regional and rural New South Wales. Graduates are given the opportunity to work in community and residential care, including low and high care, palliative and dementia specific care.

 

“Transcend is now in its third intake and since beginning in April 2013, has provided numerous graduate registered nurses with the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the aged and community care industry” said Whiddon Group CFO Chris Mamarelis.

“We currently have a number of Transcend graduates who are on placements or are employed by our metropolitan and regional services” he said.

The graduates do not carry a clinical load and are supported throughout the program with mentors on the floor, and an intensive three week aged care education- based program prior to working with clients.

Program Outline

Weeks 1-3: Refreshing skills, learining about the organisation, the Whiddon Way and aged and community care

Weeks 4-7: Clinical floor work with experienced Registered Nurses in a team environment to provide care for older people

Weeks 8-13 Independnet consolidated placement across one of Whiddon’s 26 metropolitan and regional services throughout NSW.

This is the aged care provider’s third intake and applications close on September 22nd, 2013.
