Aged Care WA: Bethanie Medallion Finalists Announced

Aged care provider Bethanie have announced their finalists for the 2012 Bethanie Medallion. The provider called for nominations in October and will announce the winner from the finalists on the 29th of November. The Bethanie Medallion will recognise a range of volunteers and professionals for their outstanding work in the Aged Care sector. Nominations include awards for professional workers in the aged care industry, volunteer organisations, individuals and journalists.

Bethanie Chief Executive Stephen Besci said that The Bethanie Medallion was a way to recognise the ‘unsung heroes’ in the community.

“The people who give unselfishly to others, serve above and beyond the call of duty, seek to enrich the lives of others and simply make the lives of the elderly citizens easier and more enjoyable” he said.

Nominated Aged Care Providers for the Bethanie Professional Medallion include Craigcare, Metro Hospice Care, UWA and Bethanie.

Journalists from The West Australian, Sun City News and Have a Go News were also nominated for their balanced reporting on aged care related issues.

Bethanie operates many residential aged care facilities throughout Western Australia and began the Bethanie Medallion awards in 2004.
