Aged Care Provider Honours Local Member

The Whiddon Group Narrabri has been renamed The Whiddon Group Narrabri – Robert Young, in honour of the local community member as a recognition of this volunteer work.

“The Whiddon Group Narrabri has been renamed ‘The Whiddon Group Narrabri- Robert Young,’ in recognition of the voluntary service and support Mr Young has given to the organisation over the past 30 years,” said Director Care Services, Maree Taylor.

 

“It is an honour and a privilege to be involved and have my name associated with The Whiddon Group,” said Mr Young.“I was honoured, surprised, and thrilled to have this honour bestowed on me,” said Mr Young.

Mr Young has supported The Whiddon Group for more than 30 years and is currently Chairman of the organisation’s voluntary local advisory committee.

Mr Young has served as a councillor on the Narrabri Shire Council, is a member of the Volunteer Rescue Association Management Committee and the State Emergency Services, a former honorary Ambulance Officer, and was Narrabri’s honorary Santa for more than 25 years.

The renaming and unveiling ceremony was hosted by The Whiddon Group’s Board of Directors, who are travelling from Sydney, CEO Lee-ann Iriwn, and Director Care Services, Maree Taylor.

The ceremony was  attended by Robert and Julie Young, The Whiddon Group’s Board of Directors, employees, clients, and community members.

The Whiddon Group operates two residential aged care services in Narrabri, The Whiddon Group- Robert Young, and The Whiddon Group- Jessie Hunt, community care and independent living services.
